What I'm working on

I'm working on a few different projects at the moment, all different odds and ends as I learn more about the magical journey that is turning an idea into something that someone can use (and hopefully, improve their life).

Centori: marketing services and software

Status: Full-time

Centori | SEO coaching and software
SEO is complicated, so we’re making it easy. Centori provide the powerful SEO techniques the pros use in simple, easy to use software. Start a free trial today.

This is my first real indiehacking project. I got the software bug after first learning to code and decided I wanted to build an SEO SaaS company. Yeah... I was a bit overly confident.

What I found along the way is that SEO SaaS sucks, and doesn't solve the real problem for most people which is this: SEO is hard and SEO software doesn't fix that. To succeed, you need to think creatively and strategically.

So I scrapped most of the software and turned Centori into an SEO services and coaching business where I work one-on-one with clients to build their SEO strategies. It's a lot more rewarding and, for the most part, very fun.

The Green Alternatives: A directory of eco-friendly alternatives to everyday products

Status: In Progress

The Green Alternatives
The Green Alternatives is committed to collecting and vetting eco-friendly brands you can trust. Find alternatives to common single-use wasteful products and start saving the planet!

This was created as an SEO experiment: I wanted to see if I could rank a website from scratch and document it for my subscribers.

It's not all about SEO, though. I care a lot about the environment, and am frustrated by the single-use waste I see around my own home. I created this website to rank, but also solve a real problem: what are the things we can do to reduce our waste while not sacrificing quality of life?

There's no angle on this site; I'm not generating revenue. It's purely to create a helpful resource for the internet.

Woodchuck: Connecting gardeners with arborists for affordable, local mulch

Status: In Progress

Woodchuck | Locally Sourced Mulch
Local Mulch Starting at $8/yard Delivered to Your Door We partner with local arborists to deliver affordable mulch straight to your door. Starting at $8/yard, you can have fresh, organic mulch ready for your garden. Why Woodchuck? It’s environmentally friendly. Rather than cut down more forests, you’re receiving mulch from arborists in your town. * […]

When my wife and I took down 16 hemlock trees in our yard (they were not doing well), I learned two things:

  1. Trees generate a ton of mulch
  2. Arborists pay a lot of money to dispose of that mulch

So this is a thought experiment in beta: can I connect gardeners and homeowners with arborists to buy the mulch that they would otherwise pay excessive fees to dump?

Hourglass: A to-do app with a timer

This is a passing fancy that I bought a domain for. There's no website yet.
